  [S1013] Leandra Loeffler [Jloeffler2@cox.net], 24 Dec 2005. Rufus Cobb Wallace died August 31, 1920 in Phoenix, Maricopa County, AZ. Rufus is buried in an unmarked grave in Cementario Lindo Cemetery in Phoenix. He moved here after his wife Mary E. Scroggins died (in Bibb Co.) in 1913 from burns received while burning leaves in the yard. My grandmother was a little girl and could not get the gate unlocked to save her, she watched her burn. They had a total of 5 children. 3 lived. Clyde J., Mamie A., and K.C. The two that died were named April and Charles. His daughter, Mamie Alice Wallace Saylor b. 15 Dec 1902 d. 1 Jul 1986 in Clovis, Curry Co. NM. She was married to Norman (Pete) Leslie Saylor b. 14 Nov 1904 d. 16 Jul 1981 Lubbock County, TX.
