  		1822 Petition, Moore County, NC - Thomas Brown 1822, Dec -- Petition, Nov 1822-Dec 1822 General Assembly Session Records Thomas Brown filed a request to retail spirituous liquors free from having to pay for a license to support himself. He was stricken at age 17 with a particularly bad case of the "white swelling" and is unable to use one of his legs and cannot walk without the use of a cane.
