      "Carthage - O.D. Wallace, 61, died at his home at 8:30 am Sunday following a sudden heart attack. Funeral services will be held at 4pm Monday from the Carthage Baptist Church with the Rev. Walter L. Warfford, pastor, officiating assisted by the Rev. W.S. Golden. The body will lie in state at the church for two hours preceding the funeral. Interment will be in Cross Hill Cemetery. Mr. Wallace was a well-known local merchant. He was a member of the board of deacons of the Baptist Church and a former local postmaster. Surviving are his wife, the former Agnes Bartlett; two daughters, Betty Doyle Wallace and Marguerite Wallace; and one son O.D. Wallace, Jr., all of the home; his mother, Mrs. J.C. Wallace; three sisters, Mrs. Walter Porter, Mrs. J.W. McCloud and Mrs. H.J. Hall; and five brothers, C.C., Walter, B.C., L.C. and R.G. Wallace, all of Carthage."
