The Piney Woods Inn is visible in the background with this vintage photograph donated by M. Louise Seawell on June 3, 2004 to the Moore County Public Library in Carthage, N.C. A few have been identified: (Front Row, L-R) Seated 2nd person is believed to be John Alexander Muse, 3rd person is Captain Rev. William Henry Harrison Lawhon, 6th person is believed to be Charles Chalmers McLean (Company H, 26th Regiment), 7th person is William Christopher Moore (Company H, 26th Regiment), 8th person is believed to be John Bethune Currie "Jack", 9th person is believed to be Samuel Jones Muse; (2nd Row, L-R) Seated 1st person is Eli P. Jones of Tyson & Jones Buggy Company in Carthage, N.C.; (3rd Row, L-R) Standing 5th person is believed to be Samuel Washington Humber of Tyson & Jones Buggy Company in Carthage, N.C., 8th person is Thomas Henry Caviness (Died- December 28, 1945), 12th person is Evander McNeill Blue, 16th person is believed to be Virgil Newton Seawell, M.D. According to the Diary of Rev. William Henry Harrison Lawhon dated Thursday, March 19, 1908- "Wife (Nora E. Vestal Lawhon) & I go to Carthage to the reunion of the old soldiers of Blue & Gray. We have a big crowd an a good time the ladies of Carthage gave us a good dinner."
