Notes |
- There has been much confusion regarding Jeremiah and another Jeremiah Williams (b. 1775). There has even been a question as to whether they were the same individual. It is my belief that there were in fact two separate men. This is based in the fact that both men appear in the 1830 Census in Moore County, NC and their individual land records show ownership in different locations. This Jeremiah owned a great deal of land north of the town of Robbins, NC located on Bear Creek and Deep River. The other Jeremiah mentioned primarily owned land south of the town of Robbins, NC located between Flag Creek and Buffalo Creek. Additionally, Y-DNA testing from descendants of each of these Jeremiahs do not match each other indicating that they were not closely related.
