She married John Carpenter who was born 1789 in Moore County, NC and died June 4, 1857 in Blackhawk, Carroll County, MS. Their son, William Carpenter, was born 1833 in MS and died Dec 31, 1862 at the Battle of Murfreesboro in TN fighting for the Confederates. William married Sarah "Sallie" Cooley who was born 1833 in TN and died Sep 6, 1860 in Blackhawk, Carroll County, MS, giving birth to their only child, Walter Kennedy Carpenter who was raised by his maternal grandparents, George Cooley and Rebecca Howard Cooley. Walter married Willie Maude Comstock. Their daughter, Vivian Imogene Carpenter, was my great grandmother.
