      Ordered that Joseph Allen be appointed overseer of the Yadkin Road from the County line to the fork of the road at Instant Hall's plantation and have the following hands to work: William Morgan Jr., Stephen Smith, Nicholas Smith, George Cagle (Wolf), Peter Haire, Peter Garner, John Comber, Leonard Cagle, Moses Wilson, Nathan Morgan, George Morgan, Reuben Freeman and Henry Cagle's of age sons.

      Report made to Colonel Return Jonathan Meigs, agent to the Cherokee Indians, Southwest Point, regarding the number and condition of the Settlers living in and near the "Wofford Settlement", on the Frontier of Georgia and the Cherokee Nation of Indians - lying between the Currahee Mountain and the headwaters of the Oconee River. Original Settlers in the Nathan Smith settlement who were left outside of Colonel Hawkins line: Nathan Smith, James Minyard, Michael Oliver, Stephen Smith, Nicholas Smith, Owen Carpenter, Jack Parker, Thomas Warren, Joseph Halcom, Charles Warren, William Thornton, Johnson McKinney and Lewis Dickenson. [Editor's Note: Numerous Moore County families joined Nathan Smith and family in migrating to GA. Many continued to MS from there.]
