James Muse, Sr. died in Cumberland in 1758, and his widow Sophia Pope Muse sold their plantation on Deep River in 1759. Shortly there afterwards, she remarried to John Morrison and between 1760 and 1762, they moved to Craven County South Carolina with her younger sons Thomas and Daniel and daughter Anna/Anny/Amy Muse. John and Sophia Morrison lived in Fairfield County South Carolina (formed in 1785 from the old Craven County) near her children Thomas Muse and Lydia Muse Seale until the 1790s. In 1792, Sophia gave two slaves to her daughter Lydia Muse Seale, but there is no record of her after that. John Morrison lived until late 1798 or 1799, when the court appointed his stepson Thomas Muse as the administrator of Morrisons estate.
