1808 Petition to Governor Benjamin Williams

Petition of Moore County residents on behalf of Charles Brady who have been convicting of maiming and sentenced to a fine and sixty days imprisonment. The petitioners plead on behalf of Brady that the act was done in sudden affray and without any malice, the verdict was doubtful to many, Brady is very poor man with a family of small helpless children and a sickly hysterical wife and they are requesting a pardon.
