      1871, Apr 18 -- War of 1812 Pension, File 14946, James Owen
      James Owen (age 80), resident of Moore County, NC, applied for a pension in Randolph County, NC. Owen stated that he served under Captain Isaac Sullivan. On 19 Jul 1855, James Owen (age 57) applied for bounty land and received a land warrant for 80 acres for his service. George Cagle, and Miles Jordan attested to his service in 1855. George Yow (of Randolph County, NC) and George W. Williams (of Guilford County, NC) attested to his service in affidavits filed in 1871. He married Susannah Gardner 19 Jun 1814 in Moore County, NC at the home of her father, Peter Garner. Susanna Owen (resided of Kemp Mills, Randolph County, NC) filed for a Widow's Pension on 28 Mar 1877 stating that James Owen died in Moore County, NC on 17 Dec 1874. Additional affidavits of support filed by James J. Owen, Harbard Hancock, William Cassady (age 66 in 1877) and John Crisco (age 60 in 1877). Susannah Owen died 23 May 1884.
